Grants bolster CFA brigade culture, leadership

06 Jun 2018 Euroa Gazette, Euroa VIC (General News) SOME 106 Northern Victoria CFA brigades have been successful in the first round of the Enhancing Volunteerism Grants Program. The grants will provide volunteer firefighters with a welcome boost, supporting vital equipment and facility upgrades, as well as local initiatives that strengthen volunteerism and brigade culture. Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria) congratulated the brigades in her electorate for their successful application. Ms Symes said the grants address immediate needs and enhance operational capability, improve culture, diversity and fairness, and strengthen volunteer leadership skills. They said they will also encouraging recruitment, retention and recognition of volunteers. The total value of the program is $10 million, with the remaining $4.84 million to be allocated in a second round of grants
