Increased security at court house

22 Dec 2017 Wangaratta Chronicle, Wangaratta VIC (General News) WANGARATTA residents must now undertake entry screenings at Wangaratta courthouse under a statewide rollout of court security. Visitors will be scanned and have their bags checked by court officers upon entering. The new officers will also provide escort services for vulnerable people, including women and children who have been victims of family violence. The increased security measures form part of the State Governments $58.1 million investment in the states courts. The new court security officers will help to make our courts safer by providing escort services for vulnerable people, including those affected by family violence, Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria) said.
