VicRoads call for town feedback

14 Mar 2018 Euroa Gazette, Euroa VIC (General News) THE Longwood-Avenel Road, Queen and Bank streets intersection in Avenel will be given a makeover, with the State Government agreeing to fund a much needed overhaul of the complex junction. The proposed changes have been supplied to VicRoads, and Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria) said that government is keen for Avenel residents to have their say on those alterations. New line markings and asphalt are to be installed in the coming weeks, with the pavement also to be resurfaced to make this section of road safer and smoother for motorists. It is expected that new line markings will help drivers navigate this connection which links to the level crossing over Longwood Road, and clear up confusion over who has priority and right of way. The project is expected to be completed in the next week or so, with traffic controls to be in place during the works.
