Support for families
$400 School Saving Bonus
The School Saving Bonus will provide $400 in support for Victorian school-aged students in Term 4, 2024 for use on 2025 school costs.
Free Kinder - saving families up to $2,500 per child
Free Kinder is available in Three- and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs across Victoria at participating services.
Free Glasses for Kids program
Provides free vision screening and, if needed, further testing and free glasses to participating Prep to Year 3 students.
Free zoo visits and Melbourne Museum entry for kinds under 16
Children under 16 can receive free admission to Healesville Sanctuary, Kyabram Fauna Park, Melbourne Zoo, and Werribee Open Range Zoo on weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
Children under 16 can visit the Melbourne Museum for free too.
Children under 5 can visit free to the National Gallery of Victoria.
Free camping at bookable campgrounds
In 131 of Parks Victoria's paid campgrounds, camping will be free of charge between 1 December 2024 and 30 June 2025.
Get Active Kids $200 voucher
Eligible children may receive up to $200 to cover the costs for membership and registration fees.
Period products stocked in all government schools
Free pads and tampons are available in every government school in Victoria
Free pads and tampons in up to 700 public places
Free vending machines with pads and tampons are being installed at up to 700 public places across Victoria, including public hospitals, TAFEs, courts, libraries, staffed train stations and major cultural institutions like Melbourne Museum and the National Gallery of Victoria.
Early parenting centres
Early Parenting Centres (EPCs) are a free primary health service. They provide specialist support for Victorian families with children from birth and up to 4 years.
Baby Bundles
Part of the Victorian government's $213.7 million parenting package to support first-time parents and carers, first-time parents and carers are provided with a bundle of nursery essentials containing key parenting information and resources to support the health, development and wellbeing of their babies.
Prep Bags
Each Prep student attending a Victorian government school will receive a Prep bag to celebrate this milestone in their education journey.
Kinder Kits
All children starting funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten in 2024 in Victoria are eligible to receive a Kit, including children commencing Early Start Kindergarten and Access to Early Learning programs.
Smile Squad
Smile Squad delivers free oral health promotion, dental check-ups and treatment to Victorian government school students at school.
Capped V/Line fares at metro rates
Beginning 31 March 2023, no matter where you live in Victoria, it costs you the same amount to travel. The most you’ll pay is the same as a daily capped fare, which is currently $10.60 full fare, or $5.30 for concession.
Victorian Default Offer
Victorian households and small businesses on the 2024/25 draft VDO pay $202 less on average per year for their electricity than before the introduction of the VDO on 1 July 2019
School Breakfast Clubs program
Since the program was established in 2016, it has delivered more than 40 million healthy and nutritious meals to students in participating schools across the state
Capped Council Rates with CPI
For the 2024-25 financial year, council rate rises are capped at 2.75 per cent.
3, 6, 12-month rego
Pay less upfront when you choose a 3- or 6-month registration renewal.
Support for seniors and veterans
Senior Discounts
There is a range of discounts, concession entry and travel vouchers for seniors.
Patient Travel Subsidies
Travel/accommodation subsidies for rural Victorians travelling long distances to see health specialists.
Victorian Veterans Concessions
Veterans are eligible for a card with discounts on vehicle rego and free fishing and boating licenses.
Electricity discounts and winter gas discounts
For eligible concession card holders.
Support for renters and young people
A range of initiatives are being introduced to protect Victorian renters' rights, including:

- Restricting rent increases between successive fixed-term agreements
- Cap of one residential rent rise per 12 months
- Introduced long term leases
- Established Rental Dispute Resolution Vic
- Introduced a portable rental bond
Free L-plate and P-plate licences and online testing
The Labor Government has cut costs for new drivers and their families with the abolition of learner and probationary licence fees, as well as online testing fees.
Victorian Homebuyer Fund
A shared equity scheme supporting people to buy their first home.
Free TAFE
More than 80 Free TAFE qualifications and short courses without the cost of tuition fees, even if you already hold a VET qualification or degree can be accessed.
The Allen Labor Government has announced more than 5,000 Fee-Free TAFE places in construction and housing sector courses.
Free nursing, midwifery and teaching
The Allen Labor Government offer scholarships and support to train and upskill the next generation of nurses and midwives.
Free car rego for apprentices, saving up to $865 a year
Trade apprentices using their own car for work may be eligible for free car registration.
