$10,000 to help council with climate change

THE Rural City of Wangaratta will receive $10,000 from the State Government to help with the impact of climate change. Wangaratta has been jointly funded with Wodonga, Indigo, Murrindindi, Benalla and Moira shires to develop a coordinated environmental sustainability reporting program to benefit each council area. It is part of $200,000 from the Victorian government announced by Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria) to help local communities prepare for climate change. Towong Shire, Indigo Shire, Mitchell Shire and Alpine Shire also received funding.
