07 Jun 2017 Benalla Ensign, Benalla VIC (General News)
Northern Victorias emergency management volunteers are getting a funding boost from the Andrews Labor Governments Emergency Services Volunteer Sustainability Grants program. Benallas SES Unit will receive $28 022.73 for a kitchen upgrade and for the supply and installation of two industrial motorised and remote controlled roller doors. Labor Upper House Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes has announced more than $700 000 in funding from applications for equipment, communications, facility upgrades and community engagement and training from the CFA, SES, Ambulance Victoria, coast guard and other organisations. Ms Symes congratulated the organisations for their successful grant applications, which would assist our hard-working volunteers in the crucial work they do in keeping our community safe. This funding will help our dedicated emergency service volunteers from the CFA, SES, St Johns Ambulance and Ambulance Victoria continue to keep our communities safe in an emergency, Ms Symes said. This Labor Government funding will improve conditions at local stations, provide life-saving equipment, and provide brigades with essential operation equipment that keep our country towns safe in an emergency.
