Broadford Youth Centre
25 May 2016 Seymour Telegraph, Seymour VIC (General News)
In brief: Friday officially marked the beginning of works on Broadfords youth centre. The youth centre will be built at the site of the former Broadford police station and will provide an integrated space for young people, while it will also host the expanding Broadford youth drop-in service. The Victorian Government provided $387 000 for the project. The project will provide spaces for youth programs, a kitchen, multi-use office space, storage and landscaping, Labor Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes said. Young people make up 22 per cent of the population in Mitchell Shire and providing opportunities for civic engagement, youth support, information and referral is imperative for the Broadford community. Young people in this community will soon have a great place they can turn to for support and information when they need it most.
