Call for kids to protect land

In brief THE State Government has announced $400,000 in funding for Junior Landcare and biodiversity grants, to help kids across the state protect Victorias environment. Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria) is encouraging local groups to apply for the fund, which is open to Victorian schools, kindergartens, childcare centres, Scouts, Guides and youth groups.
Grants of up to $5000 will be available to fund projects that boost biodiversity through the development, improvement or restoration of habitat for Victorias native plants and animals.
Grants will also be available for programs that engage or educate young people to value and actively care for Victorias natural environment.
