A SAFETY upgrade to the Boorhaman Road level crossing in Bowser, north of Wangaratta, is complete. Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said boom gates had been installed at the crossing on the busy rail line, which carries V/ Line and XPT passenger services, as well as ARTC freight trains. The crossing previously had only warning signs and flashing lights. There have been too many near misses at the crossing in recent years, which is why this $475,000 upgrade is so important, Ms Symes said.
