First sod turned on Yea High School upgrade

STUDENTS at Yea High School will soon be learning in an array of new and upgraded classrooms. The $1.39 million redevelopment includes refurbishment of the woodwork. metal work and plastics technology area, construction of a new art and visual communication building as well as a new music room and performance area. There will also be an upgrade of the main classroom wing, including an IT computer room and a staff kitchenette. Labor Upper House Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes and Member for Eildon Cindy McLeish. recently joined students and teachers to turn the first sod on the redevelopment of the schools facilities. Ms Symes said the new state of-the-art facilities will provide better learning environments for Yea students so they can get the best out of their education. This is an exciting day for the Yea community as these upgrades will ensure staff and students at Yea High School have the facilities they need and deserve, Ms Symes said.
