The Nagambie on Water Festival is on from March 2 to March 4 and will be jampacked with a mix of both new and classic activities for the whole family to enjoy. Going into its 11th year, NOW festival public relations officer Tyler Harford said the events organisers decided to ramp up the publicity in 2018. Its not necessarily rebranding were just taking the brand to the next level, he said. This year we implemented a radio campaign in Melbourne, working with 3 Triple RRR, to try to attract a new audience . . . giving younger families a chance to come to Nagambie for a country getaway out of the city. Weve also hit Facebook hard each week in the lead up to the event, giving people who follow our page the chance to win prizes. The festival will launch its first Elloura Colour Splash, while the 1.1 km Mitchelton Park to Pub Swim will be happening once again. Mr Harford said these events are two of the biggest drawcards at the festival. The Elloura Colour Splash is a 2.5 km trail which you can walk or run which goes from Jacobsons Outlook, following the lakeside walking track, ending up at the Nagambie Recreation Reserve, he said. So when participants finish theres a big colour party, like what you see with the Melbourne Colour Run. So were inviting people to dress up in different outfits and register as teams, families or singles. Meanwhile, the Mitchelton Park to Pub swim is a 1.1 km long at Lake Nagambie. People can enrol in different categories . . . like master, senior or veteran, and theres a cash prize at the end. The swim will start from Buckley Park Boat Ramp, before going past the iconic Black Caviar statue and then back to the starting point. Participants will be able to register for both events online. Mr Harford said other activities attendees can look forward to include the Tahbilk Great Grape Stomp, Costa Community Canoe Challenge and Dance NOW. Families and individuals can purchase a passport to play pass online, which will give them access to more than 20 activities. The Don Lewis Wine Bar, in commemoration of the late Don Lewis, will be serving some of the regions finest winesfrom Mitchelton Wines, Tar & Roses Wine, Tahbilk Winery and Fowles Wine. Local craft beers and ciders will also be available. Member for Euroa Steph Ryan, Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes and Member for Northern Victoria Luke OSullivan will attend on Saturday. Nagambie Lakes Community Market will be held on High St, March 3, 9 am to 4 pm.
