Funds for fire brigades, Seymour Telegraph, Seymour VIC
Several local fire brigades will get new equipment after the latest round of Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program funding. The Hilldene brigade will get $100 000 towards the $230 000 cost of a light tanker. The brigade will contribute $100 000 and the CFA a further $30 000. Tallarook will get $3223 towards $4834 of IT and audio visual equipment; Avenel will receive $2379 towards $3568 for an automated defibrillator; Glenaroua $1107 towards $1660 of lighting equipment; and Mitchell Shire group $830 towards a $1245 multifunction printer. The equipment needed to respond to emergencies is a big cost burden and this funding will go a long way towards reducing pressures on our volunteers, State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said.
