Funds for uniforms

17 Jun 2016 Gannawarra Times, Gannawarra (General News) FIVE sporting clubs in Gannawarra will share close to $4500 in equipment and uniform grants from the State Government. The Cohuna Clay Target Club, Kerang Bowling Club, Kerang Clay Target Club and Mallee Eagles Football Netball Club each secured $1000 for equipment or uniforms, while the Gunbower Bowls Club will benefit from close to $500 in the latest Sporting Club Grants Program. Sport is such a big part of our community lifestyle, with local sports and club facilities bringing together people of all walks of life to nurture the next generation of home-grown heroes, Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes said. The program gives clubs the chance to secure grants of up to $5000 to bolster operations and increase community participation, and $2000 to expand the skills set of coaches or officials, for training such as first aid courses or umpires accreditation programs.
