08 Mar 2017 Seymour Telegraph, Seymour VIC (General News) First-home buyers in the region will have their first home owner grant doubled from July 1. The grant will increase from $10 000 to $20 000 for first-home buyers building new homes valued up to $750 000. The grant will be applicable to contracts signed from July 1 this year to June 30, 2020. Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the changes from the Victorian Government would make it easier for young people in Northern Victoria to build their first home, as well as boosting local construction jobs and development. This is a win for firsthome buyers in northern Victoria and will help boost local jobs in our country towns, Ms Symes said.
