TWO volunteer accredited wildlife carers operating shelters in the Rural City of Wangaratta have been granted State Government funding to assist their work. Cheshunt shelter operator Claire Crossman received $1269 and Wangaratta shelter operator Samantha Williams got $516 to support the many hours each spends helping rescue and rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife. We rely on volunteers to look after injured wildlife and release them back into the wild -these grants help to cover the costs of this important work, said Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria).
