Hospital funding increased, Midland Express, Kyneton VIC

The State Government has detailed what local health services will gain from the health funding allocation set in the 2015-16 budget. Last week, Northern Victorian MPs, Jaclyn Symes and Steve Herbert, revealed increased funds to Victorian hospitals including Kyneton and Castlemaine. Kyneton Hospital will receive $8.8 million this year, up $611,000 on last years budget, while Castlemaine Health has $23.8 million, up $1.5 million on last years budget. Maldon Hospital and Hepburn Health will also benefit with funds up $50,000 and $382,000 respectively on last years budget. The additional funding will support health services to meet the increasing demands of a growing and ageing population, expand and improve services and care, reduce waiting times and enable more patients to be admitted to hospitals and treated in emergency departments. Im proud to be part of a government that is investing in our health system which means they can provide even more care for our loved ones, Ms Symes said. Mr Herbert said the government is putting country and regional patients first. (We are) making important reforms so that our health system improves and Victorians can get the care they need, when they need it, he said.
