Library reopened

The much-anticipated refurbishment of Nagambie Library is complete. The revamped library is now open to the public, after it was officially opened last Wednesday in front of residents and key project stakeholders. In 2016, Council received a $90 000 grant from the State Governments Living Libraries Infrastructure Fund to upgrade and refresh a library which desperately needed a facelift. Strathbogie Shire Council chipped in $10 000, as did Goulburn Valley Libraries, to finish off the major refurbishment, which has included improvements to both the exterior and interior of the library. A more modern space with a smaller, fresher collection, as well as more seating options and an expanded childrens and teen area is part of the completed project. Signage and gardening work has also been done to spruce up the buildings overall appearance, and an after-hours returns chute has been added to better improve customer options and service. Additional computer desks, TV screens and an automatic book scanner have also been included.
