THE Wangaratta community is invited to a forum to hear about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) next Tuesday, from 2pm to 4pm at the Quality Gateway Hotel. State Government Minister for Disability, Martin Foley, is hosting the forum and will be joined by Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria) and the National Disability Insurance Agency to talk about how to work together to prepare for the rollout of the NDIS in the Wangaratta area from October 2017. The NDIS is a national program that will provide a new way of delivering services and support for Australians with permanent and significant disability and aims to build a completely new national disability support system. It will give people with a disability and their families more choice and control over the services they receive.
