Preschool rapt with grant, Benalla Ensign, Benalla VIC
Ride Avenue Preschool has received a grant to enhance its kindergarten area with the installation of a bi-fold door to ease movement and access. The $9800 Minor Infrastructure Refurbishment Grant was announced last week by Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes with the funding set to deliver new kindergarten infrastructure improvements. Ride Avenue Preschool director Tania Piscioneri welcomed the grant, saying the funds would enhance the preschools indooroutdoor program and naturebased play that offered a variety of experiences for the kinder children to observe, explore and create. We value the variety of play spaces our preschool provides, so the installation of a bi-fold door will greatly enhance our current learning spaces, Mrs Piscioneri said. The refurbishment grant will allow us to remove the existing windows and small door on the eastern side of the main learning room and installing a bi-fold door into the space. Ride Avenue Preschool Committee president Briony Mount said: This will remove any sense of barrier between the two spaces and will allow and encourage the children to move freely between the indoor and outdoor areas. When the bi-fold doors are open it will remove the distinction between the two areas altogether, allowing for one large educational space that is not defined by the physical building.
