Safety boost for Mansfield, Shepparton News, Shepparton VIC
More than $230 000 from the Victorian Government will help boost community safety in Mansfield. State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced the successful funding for the Mansfield Shire Council Erril St Rejuvenation and Activation Project yesterday, under the state governments Public Safety Infrastructure Fund grants program. Ms Symes said the funding would deliver significant improvements within the Erril St precinct including improved lighting, footpaths, landscaping, street furniture, signage and recreational infrastructure which would in turn improve safety. True crime prevention begins when communities are involved and the Andrews Labor Government is providing the opportunity for local councils to partner with their local community to target crime in Mansfield, she said. Mansfield is one of 14 local councils to receive funding from the Government Public Safety Infrastructure Fund. Projects to receive funding include CCTV installations, lighting upgrades and neighbourhood renewal projects.
