Seymour Line closes for repair

31 Jul 2018 Whittlesea Review, Whittlesea (General News) THE state government has announced the Seymour and Shepparton lines will be replaced by bus services until September to conduct upgrades. Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan announced the 110 million track, signalling and structure works commenced on the weekend. During this period, crews will be completing a range of works including replacing the station pit at Donnybrook, removing the existing track near the station platform, adding new ballast and laying new track. Further works will involve platform renewal at Wandong Station and signal upgrades In Kilmore East. Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the government wanted to Improve the regions services. V/Line data also revealed the Seymour trains punctuality still remains below 90 per cent after recording a score of 88.3 per cent in June. While up from the 80.5 per cent in May, commuters are still raising questions about the punctualltyof the trains. Reliability of the line also fell to 95.3 per cent, down by 0.6 per cent since last month. The last time the reliability of the Seymour line had fallen to below 96 per cent was in February 2016 when It was 95.5 per cent, according to V/Line data.
