Symes will fill the void
by Amy Hume
MEMBER for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes will be soon calling Mitchell Shire home.
The new member is not only making a personal move to the Broadford area but also scouting for office space not too far from home, she revealed to the North Central Review last week.
Symes move will fill the current void of politicians in the Mitchell Shire which has grown since former Member for Northern Victorian Donna Petrovich shifted office to Woodend before contending for the Macedon seat.
Petrovichs position was then filled by Amanda Millar who remained at the same Woodend office. After fighting to find a more suitable office space, Member for McEwen Rob Mitchell also left the shire, trading his Wallan office for one in Craigieburn.
Since then, the November state election saw former Member for Seymour Cindy McLeish stepping in as the
new Member for Eilden and leaving her office in Seymour.
The election created the new Eildon seat which Stephanie Ryan now occupies with her office space in Benalla.
Symes was uncertain as to when exactly she can situate her office in the shire but is keen to
see it happen soon.
