Victorian Government invests in clubs long-term future, Riverine Herald

The Victorian Government is continuing to support regional racing clubs with a $755,310 new pavilion for the Echuca Racing Club. And the new state-of-the-art racing Jaclyn Symes, the Member for Northern Victoria representing Racing Minister Martin Pakula on July 13. Both the new Pavilion and its deck at ERC will also offer improved access for people with a disability and capture from the Pavilion roof. The renovation has seen a major improvement in capacity and comfort, with new furnishings and a heating and cooling system, plus the huge timber deck which joins beautifully to create an indoor-outdoor entertaining space. Even the stringy bark timber facade of of the clubs history on the Murray River. The government will continue to deliver projects that support the local economy and regional Victoria by creating jobs locally. In the Goulburn region racing creates more than 2240 fulltime jobs and more than 8340 locals are involved in the industry either as an owner, breeder, trainer, participant or volunteer. This ERC renovation has seen a major improvement in capacity and comfort, with new furnishings and a heating and cooling system, plus the huge timber deck which joins beautifully to create an indoor-outdoor entertaining space. The government, through the Victorian Racing Industry Fund, contributed $377,655 towards the project with the Echuca Racing Club, Racing Victoria and Country Racing Victoria jointly matching the governments contribution on the $755,310 project. Echuca Racing Club is a vibrant part of the Victorian racing industry, featuring 11 meetings each year, with its premier event, the Echuca Cup, each May. Racing in the Goulburn region alone generates more than $227 million in The Victorian Government boosted the Victorian Racing Industry Fund to $86 million with the aim of supporting regional racing facilities and improve the race-day experience for everyone.
