GRANTS TO HELP VICTORIANS BE MORE ACTIVE MORE OFTEN

The Allan Labor Government is helping more Victorians get involved in sport and active recreation, boosting participation opportunities across the state.
Member for Northern Victoria announced funding for 3 local projects that will share in the latest round of the Labor Government’s Together More Active program.
Valley Sport in Shepparton will receive $480,000, Mallee Sports Assembly Inc in Mildura will receive $420,000 and Sport North East in Wangaratta will also receive $420,000.
This funding will support each organisation to deliver initiatives to enhance sector capability and increase inclusive participation, including:
- Providing workshops and 1:1 support for clubs in the areas of: strategies to increase participation, volunteer training, upskilling, and retention, good governance practises, gender equality, strategic and operational planning, promoting all-abilities and inclusive participation, child-safe guarding compliance and grant and fundraising opportunities.
- Collaborate on the statewide implementation of the Australian Sports Commission Game Plan platform
- Partner with local organisations to strengthen opportunities for people to participate in sport within their local areas.
This program draws on the power of sport making a difference; by helping these organisations build safe, inclusive, and resilient environments that encourage participation and support volunteer skills development.
The Together More Active 2023-27 Program is part of the Labor Government’s Active Victoria strategy that sets out Victoria’s priorities for sport and active recreation that ensure even more people can tap into all the benefits that sport and active recreation delivers.
