The Allan Labor Government is supporting Victorian veterans with funding for projects that honour their legacy and activities that improve their wellbeing.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced the recipients of grants in the Victoria Remembers and Anzac Day Proceeds Fund programs – which form part of the Labor Government’s support for Victorian veterans.

The Victoria Remembers grants will support 27 projects that recognise veterans’ service or educate Victorians about the sacrifices and contributions veterans make – with funding of up to $30,000 for each project.

Community group Limelight Touring Company (auspices by Auspicious Arts Projects Inc) will receive a $13,700 grant for their play ‘Shoehorn Sonata’ by John Misto – the story of two surviving women from World War Two Prisoner of War camps who are reunited after 50 years.

Wodonga RSL Sub-Branch will receive a grant to create a short film, Remembering the Sacrifice, aimed at educating local school students about the legacy of those who served. The film will feature guest speakers from the Australian Defence Force, RSL Victoria and Defence Mentors alongside local students.

Kilmore Wallan RSL Sub-Branch will receive a grant to create an education program for primary and secondary students across Kilmore and Wallan by providing the books and resources to support education and understanding of recent conflicts.

Kerang District Neighbourhood House will receive a grant for their Faces of Valor: Honouring Veterans Legacy project. A heartfelt initiative aimed at paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of veterans through and unique and immersive public display.

Seymour RSL Sub-Branch will receive a grant for their ANZAC Day 2025 event. Seymour RSL hosts the largest ANZAC day event in the district and supports neighbouring communities including Puckapunyal Base to join in commemorative services.

The Anzac Day Proceeds Fund grants will support 18 organisations to provide welfare and wellbeing activities for veterans across the state.

Grants of up to $150,000 have been provided to ex-service organisations and community groups, with regional sub-branches eligible for up to $50,000 for local initiatives that support veterans.
