The Victorian Government is ramping up its investment in regional communities looking to upgrade or build new local swimming pools, women and girls’ change rooms, courts, sports fields and pavilions.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced that applications are now open for Round 2 of the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund (RCSIF) to help regional communities plan, design and build the sport facilities they need.

The five funding streams in the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund will help regional communities plan and build everything from indoor stadiums and aquatic facilities, upgrades for women and girls, community facilities, and infrastructure and planning to encourage people from all abilities to get involved.

Additional grants of up to $50,000 are also available through the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund to help boost participation for people with disability at the new or upgraded facilities.

The RCSIF is backed by the Regional Community Sport Development Fund and the All Abilities Sport Fund and since the first round of the program opened has invested more than $20 million in 26 projects across the state.

Some of the previous projects in Northern Victoria to receive grants from the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund (RCSIF) include brand new Female Friendly changerooms at Longwood Football Netball Club, a lighting upgrade at Irymple Knights Soccer Club and a Hardcourt redevelopment project at Waaia Football Netball Club.

Since 2014 the Labor Government has invested more than $2.3 billion to deliver world class community sport infrastructure that boosts participation and improves accessibility for more Victorians.

Applications are open until 17 March 2025. For more information or to apply online visit sport.vic.gov.au/funding/regional-community-sports-infrastructure-fund
