People in Seymour will receive safer, more efficient surgical care closer to home.

The Carroll Labor Government has delivered a $4 million upgrade at Seymour Health.

The modernised Central Sterile Services Department gives hardworking staff the facilities they need to safely clean, sterilise, pack and distribute surgical equipment.

A dedicated infection-control area will help protect patients and staff, supporting safer care for everyone undergoing surgery.

New storage areas have also been created for medical equipment and other essential hospital supplies.

The project has also delivered space for a second operating theatre in the future, allowing Seymour Health to expand its surgical services as the community grows.

The upgrade was funded through the Labor Government’s Regional Health Infrastructure Fund, which is helping rural and regional health services modernise their facilities.

Since the fund was established in 2016, Labor has invested $865 million in more than 700 projects, including upgraded operating theatres, new hospital beds, consulting rooms and modern medical equipment.

This investment is delivering more care closer to home, helping health services attract and retain skilled workers and supporting hundreds of construction jobs across Victoria.

Only Labor will keep investing in regional hospitals and delivering more care closer to home.

A One Nation - Liberal Coalition cannot cut $40 billion from the budget without slashing health jobs, halting hospital upgrades and devastating the services communities like Seymour rely on.
