MORE RELIABLE SERVICES FOR SEYMOUR LINE PASSENGERS

The Allan Labor Government is giving V/Line passengers on the Seymour Line more reliable trains and better services.
Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes today announced that 68 services every week that currently run two-carriage Sprinters will be replaced with modern, larger and accessible VLocity trains from Sunday, 1 December.
The changes will add hundreds of additional seats to Seymour Line trains each week, including some during the busiest times of the day – improving journeys for passengers along the corridor.
Introducing more VLocity trains on the line will also improve the availability of Sprinter trains, reducing the risk of reduced or cancelled services.
More than 1.2 million trips have been taken on the Seymour Line since the Labor Government introduced the regional fare cap, with a return ticket to or from Seymour (previously costing more than $36), now capped at the daily metro fare of $10.60.
Planning is underway for weekend trains every hour on the Seymour Line between 8am and 9pm as part of almost 200 additional services funded in the Victorian Budget 2023/24, which are being progressively rolled out across the regional network.
Since coming to government, the Labor Government has added more than 900 new weekly services on the V/Line network.
