Visitors travelling to Victoria’s High Country can now create their own unique travel itineraries with a new app showcasing the incredible choices on offer in the region, thanks to support from the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes today officially launched the Victoria’s High Country mobile app, developed by Tourism North East and backed by a $750,000 investment from the Labor Government.
The app delivers personalised experiences for tourists exploring the High Country – connecting local businesses and attractions through the app’s search function. The location-based feature filters recommendations by distance and type, making it easier and more accessible for visitors to uncover more of what they love in the region.
From accommodation options to local restaurants, cafes, bars, breweries and hiking and cycling options, the app supports tourists with a mobile trip planner.
The app’s interactive maps display walking trails and cycling routes throughout the region and are available to access offline, helping visitors exactly where they are and where to explore next.
With more people able to easily discover everything there is to see, do and explore in Victoria’s High Country, this app is boosting local tourism, economic growth and jobs for local businesses.
Victoria’s High Country app is available for iPhone and Android users and can be downloaded on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
Tourism is one of High Country’s most important industry sectors, attracting 5.5 million domestic visitors who brought in $2.4 billion to the year ending March 2023.
The project is part of the Government’s record investment of more than $41 billion across rural and regional Victoria since 2015.
