NEW LEITCHVILLE CFA FIRE STATION TAKING SHAPE

04 May 2026

The Leitchville Country Fire Authority (CFA) Brigade will soon have a new and modern fire station delivering a big boost to the regional town’s emergency services.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced construction is now underway on the new Leitchville fire station.

The new station will give volunteers a purpose‑built base to support emergency response and help keep the community safe.

The new station will include:

  • two reverse‑in motor bays
  • turnout and operational areas
  • gender‑inclusive and accessible amenities
  • new storage space
  • a multipurpose training and meeting room
  • on‑site car parking for volunteers.

The station design also includes solar panels, rainwater tanks and is ready for future electric vehicle charging.

The new Leitchville station is being delivered through the Allan Labor Government’s $88.1 million CFA Capital Upgrades Program, backing volunteers with the modern facilities they need to respond quickly and safely.

Leitchville Fire Brigade has served the community since 1945 and is home to 31 members.

This comes on top of Labor’s biggest ever Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP) grant round of over $31 million for volunteer brigades, units and rescue organisations to upgrade trucks, equipment and facilities.

Applications for the 2026–27 VESEP round are now open and close Thursday 11 June 2026.
